FemAdLib Kolektiv: all other artists involved is on http://femadlibkolektiv.blogspot.com
Aims and Objectives: Fem Ad Lib Kolecktiv were commissioned by the Lab of insurrectionary imagination to produce a temporary performance in the week of their C.R.A.S.H. Culture project, as part of ArtsAdmin’s Two Degrees Festival. The BOGOF (Buy one get one free) concept was used in a feminist and humorous manner to highlight the inevitable rise in the trade in women, with the heating of the planet and climate change. The initial idea was to display women in a shop to be sold, with large placards to advertise the sale; but our women escaped from the ‘boxes’ that displayed their credentials; be it housewife, mother, low paid worker or business executive.Outcome: To maximize the audience connecting the link between climate change and financial concerns; we performed our work in the city, outside the Bank of England and near to Liverpool Street Station. Many people took or asked for leaflets and a number of men outside the Bank of England enquired as to what was being sold.
