ABC- Banu ( born in Istanbul, b.1975) is a mixed media artist-photographer, independent curator, community artist lives in London,UK.
Graduated (2010) with a first degree honours in BA-Fine Art from Middlesex University. Banu was invited to Hungary, Hajduboszermeny Artist Colony during summer, in 2008. http://www.hajdusagimuvesztelep.hu/2008.php Volunteered occasionally as an artist assistant at October Gallery during 2008/9. She run photography workshops on a domestic violence project at Imece-Turkish speaking women's organization in 2009. She won a photography prize on 2009-Competition (run by Imece) was to raise awareness on domestic violence. Banu is commissioned on different projects by Hackney Museum, Arts Admin and UCL's History Department, also had community art workshops with local youth groups in 2009/10. During her studies practiced in community arts with local groups. She organized and curated an art exhibition at The Gallery on Stoke Newington Church Street. Exhibition was on 8th - 23rd July 2011.
